Dear Teacher Trainees,
The Yoga Teacher Training Program at Radiance Yoga in Old Town Alexandria has several conditions mentioned in the description that we will clearly restate for you in this letter so that you are completely informed of all of your obligations. After you have had a chance to read this letter, please check the box to indicate that you understand and agree to the terms. The Program is a 200-hour yoga teacher training designed to train you to effectively sequence Flow/Hatha and Kundalini yoga classes as well as teach you philosophy, history, and anatomy to become a well-rounded teacher.
Program Graduation Requirements:
The Program consists of a combination of yoga practice, philosophy, anatomy, required reading, and any additional related requirements that are necessary to a successful yoga practice and instruction. The Program is on a pass/fail basis only. In order to pass, you must fulfill all of the application requirements and fully participate in and complete each and every aspect of the program. This means conducting yourself within the spirit and integrity of the Program, in a harmonious and cooperative manner, strictly following all schedules and deadlines, and timely completing all required reading, seminars, classes, and other requirements. As we will have much content to cover, it is imperative that all deadlines are met. Throughout the program you will be individually evaluated by our faculty.
We will also evaluate each trainee after all requirements have been met. Should we deem you fit for teaching yoga in the style and manner of the Program, you will pass and be granted a written Certificate of Completion. If you follow all requirements and meet all deadlines, you should have no trouble reaching final certification. By agreeing to participate in the programProgram, you are representing your commitment to the programProgram, and you are agreeing to uphold the yogic principles that are the basis for teaching yoga. If you decide to teach yoga, you agree to these same principles as well as following ethical guidelines laid out by Yoga Alliance.
Please note you have a certificate of completion from this training program and are not a “certified” yoga teacher. Yoga teaching is not regulated by the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as such, does not have a certification or licensing board. You will be eligible to teach yoga and register with Yoga Alliance upon completion of this program. Please check the guidelines and requirements for teaching yoga in your state.
Teaching After Graduation:
You may teach or open a yoga school/studio at any location of your choosing, as long as you do not open your own yoga school or other related facility within 5 (five) miles of any yoga school or facility owned by Radiance Yoga unless separately agreed to in writing by Radiance Yoga. Your breach of these provisions may result in continuing and irreparable harm to Radiance Yoga for which there may be no adequate remedy at law. Accordingly, Radiance Yoga shall be entitled to enforce these provisions by means of injunction, temporary restraining order, action for damages, or any other remedies at law or in equity. Should Radiance Yoga, be required to commence a legal proceeding to enforce these provisions, you will be responsible for all costs and expenses incurred, including but not limited to its reasonable attorneys’ fees at trial and on appeal.
Your completion of the Radiance Yoga 200 Level Yoga Teacher Training does not make you an agent or employee of Radiance Yoga. Rather, you will be and remain a separate entity, independently owned and/or employed, unless we agree in writing otherwise.
Photo & Video Release & Usage:
Trainee hereby authorizes Radiance Yoga to use Trainee's picture or other likeness in any advertisement, including, but not limited to marketing ads, journals, magazines, website and any other similar promotional materials without compensation. Your completion of the Radiance Yoga Flow Yoga Teacher Training does not make you an agent or employee of Radiance Yoga. Rather, you will be and remain a separate entity, independently owned and/or employed, unless we agree in writing otherwise. You may not use Radiance Yoga photographs or materials, or photographs taken by any person at Radiance Yoga or at events organized by Radiance Yoga, without the express written permission of Radiance Yoga.
Payment & Refunds:
The $500 deposit paid by you to Radiance Yoga is is non-refundable. Following any payment of teacher training tuition, you have a 30-day grace period from time of payment (prior to the training startingstart date) where if you decide that teacher training is not right for you, we will happily refund everything except your $500 deposit. Following the 30-day grace period or after the start date, your tuition will not be refunded.
Once the training has started on October 25, 2024, all fees paid by you to Radiance Yoga are non-refundable.
If we deem that you are not following the terms of this agreement, we may ask that you leave the program and you will not be entitled to a refund of any portion of any amounts paid for the program. In the unlikely event you are asked to discontinue your participation in the program, you shall have no right or authority to represent that you are a certified instructor from Radiance Yoga.
Health Waiver:
By digitally agreeing to the terms of this letter, you also unconditionally represent that you are in good health and that you have been examined by a licensed physician within the past six months and have been found by your physician to be in good health and fully able to perform all physical requirements of the Program, including a physical yoga practice. You understand and acknowledge that you are to receive the instruction of the Program and you will not hold Radiance Yoga to any higher standard of care than that applicable to the standard of care required of similar yoga training and certification programs in the industry.
In addition, you agree you will not enter Radiance Yoga in-person classes if you have signs or symptoms of the Flu, COVID-19 or other contagious illness.All participants must also sign the the standard Radiance Yoga Waiver, if they haven't already done so as a student of Radince Yoga..
You agree to waive and release Radiance Yoga, and its agents, instructors and employees from all liability for any and all loss or damage on account of injury or death whether caused by negligence or otherwise while you are in the Program or while practicing yoga or other activities, programs or education offered by Radiance Yoga or the Program. You expressly agree to hold Radiance Yoga harmless for any fees or costs or expenses that may be incurred out of necessity to defend any lawsuit instituted by virtue of injury or death or damage you may suffer, including but not limited to its reasonable attorneys’ fees at trial and on appeal.
You also agree that these provisions are intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the State Commonwealth of Virginia and that if any portion is held to be invalid, the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full force and effect. You understand and agree that this agreement is subject to the laws of the State Commonwealth of Virginia and any dispute shall be resolved only under the laws of the State Commonwealth of Virginia without regard to its conflicts of laws rules, and exclusively in the state and federal courts of Fairfax County, Virginia.
You may indicate your agreement with these terms and accept this offer by checking the “Terms & Conditions” box on the application page. Upon your acceptance of these terms Radiance Yoga will provide you with the next steps for enrollment and payment.

We look forward to your successful completion of the Program, joining our yoga family and in presenting you with your Certificate of Completion in the very near future. Know that you are now embarking on a wonderful physical and spiritual journey, and opening the path for others to join you in mind, body and spirit.
